Kaspar Henrick Tedo
Biography
Kaspar Henrick Tedo was a relative of Edward Saidi Tingatinga and one of the earliest painters to work alongside him, joining the founding circle of the Tingatinga style in Dar es Salaam in the years after 1968.
Tedo's association with Tingatinga ended in tragedy: he was wounded in the same 1972 police chase in which his teacher was shot and killed, an incident that marked the abrupt end of Tingatinga's own career and the movement's passage into the hands of its first students.
