Almighty God (Kwame Akoto) began his career at fifteen, apprenticing with local sign painters in Kumasi, Ghana, before setting up his own workshop to paint scenes of daily life with a bold, graphic style. His work is held in the collections of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, the Fowler Museum at UCLA and the British Museum, and was the subject of a major solo exhibition at the Musée du quai Branly in Paris.
