New Work: Edward Saidi Tingatinga
Savannah Life (1968) is now available from African Contemporary. Executed in bicycle enamel on masonite, it measures 58 x 73 cm and comes from the Merete Teisen Collection.
The painting was exhibited in Tingatinga: Cykellak på masonit at the Nationalmuseet in Copenhagen in 1974 and reproduced in the accompanying catalogue. It is also included in our Modern African Art selection.
Birds in the Forest at Tunduru, also dated 1968 and from the same collection, was exhibited and illustrated in the same museum catalogue. It is recorded in the artist gallery as previously sold.
