Alhassane was born in born in Tchintabaraden , Niger, West Africa.
She is a Tuareg, the desert nomads of North Africa, sometimes called
The Blue People due to the indigo dye of their traditional
clothing that rubs off on the skin. 
Tuaregs
have a strong tradition of art and jewelry making.

is a self-taught artist.
